At the end of last week many trees in Vilnius were decorated by 200 new nesting-boxes. 112 classes from 20 secondary schools participated in the event, coordinated by two of the biggest real estate companies in Lithuania - InReal and inRED. The real estate companies invited the contribution of local authorities, Zebra.lt web site and ornithologists.
"This event was very successful. We are proud that the schoolchildren and other participants not only wished to raise the nesting-boxes, donated by us, but also wanted to make their own nesting-boxes. I believe that this event not only brought variety to the schoolchildren's life, but also stimulated their environmental responsibility", says Inga Smirnovienė, Head of Marketing and Communications at InReal.
50 nesting boxes for starling, 80 for titmice and 70 other nesting-boxes were raised in Vilnius. The nesting-boxes were donated by InReal and inRED, as well as made by the schoolchildren. All nesting-boxes were made following ornithologists' advice.
