A Private Island Retreat in Estonia Offered for €1.6 Million

October 8, 2026

A leisure and events complex spanning more than six hectares is being offered for sale on Viirelaid, a private island in the Baltic Sea off Estonia. The property comprises residential and accommodation buildings, a historic lighthouse, a spa with an indoor pool and hot tub, event and seminar facilities, glamping domes, a campsite and a private marina. The asking price is €1.6 million.

“Lithuania has privately owned lakes and parts of lakes, but a private island of more than six hectares in the Baltic Sea, complete with established infrastructure, is in an entirely different category. The €1.6 million asking price is also attractive by comparison. In Lithuania today, that amount could buy a luxury detached house in a prestigious location, an estate suitable for events, a prime waterfront plot or a larger site for real estate development. Here, however, the buyer is acquiring not just land and buildings, but a private island retreat with established leisure and events infrastructure,” says Edvinas Ritvas, Head of Brokerage at INREAL Group.

The property has a total floor area of 962 sq m and includes 13 rooms and 20 bedrooms. One of its most distinctive features is a historic lighthouse, which has become an integral part of the island’s landscape. A private marina provides convenient access to the island and a direct connection to the mainland, with the boat journey taking approximately 15 minutes.

“This is the kind of property that rarely comes onto the market. What is being offered is not an undeveloped island where the buyer would have to build everything from scratch, but an established complex that can be used in many different ways – from private retreats and accommodation to events and corporate gatherings. The buyer has considerable flexibility in deciding how to use the property and its existing infrastructure,” says Kairi Vanem, a representative of INREAL Group’s Estonian partner, Uus Maa.

Viirelaid is part of Muhu Municipality and is one of the Baltic Sea islands where the natural environment has remained largely untouched. Its secluded location is an integral part of the property, offering a level of privacy that is difficult to replicate elsewhere.
