April 4, 2018. INREAL has finished RE project “Mariu Verandos” in the centre of Pervalka, on the seashore of the Curonian lagoon; it is a complex of four 1-storey or 2-storey houses with attics and divided into 26 different-size housings. “Mariu Verandos” is the seventh project finished by INREAL in the Curonian Spit. Investments in the project amount to EUR 3.4 million.
“It is a luxury housing reflecting our philosophy to develop exclusive real estate objects preserving the architectural identity and unique nature of Lithuanian seaside. We are pleased that “Mariu Verandos” quickly got sympathies from clients – almost all apartments were sold out and there are only two vacant apartments left”, – stated Gediminas Pruskus, the Director of “Inreal”.
The buildings of “Mariu Verandos” were given the names of the old villages in the Curonian Spit: Nagliai, Smiltyne, Agila and Pilkope. Due to the slippery sand of the dunes, the inhabitants from these villages found their homes in Pervalka.
Gintaras Prikockis, the architect of the project, said that the idea of “Mariu Verandos” is related to the history of architecture development in Neringa. In mid-19th century the beauty of the peninsula was discovered by German painters, who fascinated the inhabitants of East Prussia and Germany by their artworks of the nature of the Curonian Spit. People, who got used to spend their holidays here, have contributed to the development of Neringa architecture by bringing resort culture, romanticism, aesthetics, rich décor and colourfulness.
“In order to attract foreign holidaymakers, local people built richly ornamented and decorated verandas to their modest houses to accommodate their guests. It was also the visual idea of “Mariu Verandos” – a simple, gable-roof, greyish house of neutral colours with ornate, entertaining and colourful verandas. But veranda has got a more modern transformation in this project”, – the architect spoke about the idea.
A 37-are territory of “Mariu Verandos” is private and surrounded by a wooden fence typical to Neringa architecture. There is a playground, paved footpaths to the lagoon and a parking lot in the territory.
